Our Services

Cleveland Thermal owns, maintains, and operates the district heating and cooling systems for Downtown Cleveland.

The district heating system provides reliable steam for heating and process use to Downtown Cleveland businesses for more than a century. The steam is generated from the Hamilton steam generating plant converted from coal to clean-burning natural gas in early 2017.

District chilled water began operating in April 1993. This district cooling system provides chilled water that is used for cooling and de-humidification. District cooling’s efficiency and ability to flatten your facility’s electric load profile has made it a viable and popular solution for commercial space conditioning.

Cleveland Thermal’s pipeline spans more than 30 million square feet throughout the Downtown Cleveland footprint. This pipeline delivers district steam and chilled water 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
