Milwaukee, Wisconsin — Terasen Utility Services is celebrating its 10th anniversary with plans to continue raising the bar for quality performance and service to its customers.
“Our goal for the next decade is to ensure we have the right people, tools and methodologies in place so we consistently deliver quality to our customers. We have a strong management team and workforce, we’ve developed formal, comprehensive performance tracking, quality assurance, training and safety programs, and our total quality approach ensures that we meet our customers’ needs,” says Mike Jordan, Vice President and General Manager of Terasen Utility Services.
“All of this is the culmination of being in the business for 10 years and paying attention to what our customers say is important. We’re creating value for our customers and we’re doing that by building on a solid foundation of utility field services. We want the Terasen name to be synonymous with quality, reliability and efficiency.”
Originally established as FieldTech Inc. in 1995, the company is now known as Terasen Utility Services, a subsidiary of Terasen Inc., a leading provider of energy transportation and utility asset management services across North America.
“We started with the vision of becoming one of the utility industry’s leading providers of field metering services. We’ve certainly achieved that and more. But we wouldn’t be where we are today without the help of our customers and partners -- past and current. We’d like to sincerely thank all of them for their support over the past 10 years” Jordan adds.
Terasen Utility Services offerings have expanded beyond field measurement to meter shop services provided through their Regional Measurement Centers (RMC) as well as specialized field services such as mercury regulator removal, gas meter set exchanges and relights, and other special field services. With the acquisition of United Metering Inc. and Measurement Solutions International in 2004, Terasen Utility Services is also able to provide large water meter installation, meter sampling, testing, calibration and refurbishment and turnkey meter fleet management and procurement respectively. New tools include SchedulePro automated work order management systems and ImagePro, a system for digitally recording and archiving meter images during AMR and meter change programs.
