Direct Filtration
The DF water treatment plants use a combination of hydraulic or mechanical flocculation and rapid rate filtration to provide a potable water of superior quality. They are suitable for stable well or surface waters where turbidity levels seldom exceed about 10 - 20 NTU.
- custom designed
- corrosion free aluminum alloy
- mechanical or hydraulic flocculation
How it works
A coagulant is added to the raw water to precipitate dissolved contaminants and encourage suspended particles to group together in the form of "floccs". Gentle agitation in the flocculation zone encourages growth of the floccs which are then removed by the filter. Solids that accumulate within the filter are periodically removed by automatically controlled water or air/water backwashing.

Advantages and key features
- capacities to 1,500 gpm, (8,000 m3/d) per module
- excellent final water quality to less than 0.1 NTU
