Pleases refer to the previous Harmony Water Quality Update ( Feb 23) detailing the causes of water quality issues affecting our community.
As has been determined by increased and ongoing testing, Harmony water quality issues are aesthetic in nature. Consuming and using water as normal does not pose a risk to human health. Additionally, our Lake water is safe for swimming and other summer activities.
As we have been unable to satisfactorily control and treat Geosmin and manganese levels in our Lake source water, we have switched to using the Bow River as our source water. This should resolve the colour, odour, and taste issues we’ve been experiencing.
Water quality should begin clearing at our treatment plant over the next 3 to 4 days, with improvements at residents’ taps soon after.
We will post a further update here once we have confirmation water quality has returned to acceptable levels.
