Corix Helps Support Indigenous Businesses and Entrepreneurship

Jun 28, 2022

In celebration of National Indigenous History Month in Canada, the Corix Group of Companies is proud to announce our sponsorship of the business TV series The Bears’ Lair – a fully Indigenous-owned and -led production that showcases and amplifies the incredible and diverse voices of Indigenous entrepreneurs. The sponsorship exemplifies Corix’s commitment to build meaningful relationships with Indigenous Peoples in Canada.

Like the popular Dragon’s Den and Shark tank TV series, The Bears’ Lair will see 18 emerging and established Indigenous business owners from across Canada compete for their share of $180,000 in prize money. Four known Indigenous business leaders (“the Bears”) and 13 guest judges from diverse backgrounds will award $10,000 each episode, with each winner having a chance to compete for the grand prize of $100,000. The show will air this September on the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN).

Our Acknowledgement of the Indigenous Truth and Reconciliation Process

We recognize the distinct rights and title of Indigenous Peoples under Canadian law and acknowledge that we own and operate utility infrastructure and conduct business within both the declared and asserted territories of Indigenous Peoples.
