Boil Water Notice (Effective Immediately)

posted at 8:42 a.m. May 7, 2018

Effective immediately (May 7, 2018) Corix Utilities, in conjunction with the Interior Health Authority, has issued a BOIL WATER NOTICE for customers on the Panorama Water System.

  • The Boil Water Notice is required due to increased turbidity (cloudiness) above 5.0 NTU.

  • The Boil Water Notice will remain in place until conditions change or water quality has improved.

  • A second notice will be issued once the Boil Water Notice is rescinded.

Corix Utilities  and The Interior Health Authority recommend that ALL customers in the affected area drink boiled water or a safe alternative until further notice.

Water intended for drinking, washing fruits and vegetables, making beverages or ice, or brushing teeth should be boiled for at least one minute. Boiled water should then be refrigerated in a clean, covered container. Customers could also choose to use bottled or distilled water, or water that has been filtered through a well-maintained treatment device.

In accordance with Interior Health Authority requirements, owners of all public facilities must post “Boil Water Notices” at all sinks or drinking water fountains accessible to the public. (Alternatively, public fountains and taps may be turned off).

Corix Utilities is taking additional measures to reduce risk, and a notification will be issued when
water quality has improved. We appreciate your cooperation and patience during this time.
