Precautionary Water Quality Advisory for Talasa and The Point

Mar 18, 2022

UPDATE - Mar 30

The Water Quality Advisory detailed below has been rescinded.

Testing has determined drinking water standards have returned to normal, safe levels.

As a result of the construction work done in the Talasa and The Point neighbourhoods yesterday (March 17), our operators have detected increased water cloudiness (turbidity), which can occur when sediment in watermains is disturbed.

As a precaution, Corix has issued a Water Quality Advisory for these areas of the Sun Rivers community, effective immediately. We expect conditions to clear quickly, and will notify residents once the Advisory has been lifted.

Precautions During a Water Quality Advisory

In cases of increased water turbidity, Interior Health recommend that children, the elderly, people with weakened immune systems, and anyone seeking additional protection, drink boiled water or a safe alternative until further notice. For these at-risk populations, water intended for drinking, washing fruits and vegetables, making beverages or ice, or brushing teeth, should be boiled for at least one minute.

We apologise for this inconvenience, and appreciate your patience. Should you have questions, please contact Corix Customer Care.
