Corix Utilities has scheduled a public Open House on Thursday, October 14^th, from 6 to 7 PM to present information regarding its intent to submit a Regulatory Application to the British Columbia Comptroller of Water Rights. The Application will seek approval for infrastructure upgrades to improve water quality by addressing hard water issues currently affecting customers.

Background

Cultus Lake Water provides water utility service to Aquadel Crossing, Creekside Mills, Lindell Beach, and the Cottages at Cultus neighbourhoods through one connected water utility system. Although the utility operated as 2 separate systems in prior years, Corix connected the Cultus and Lindell Beach water systems in 2019 to provide improved fire flow protection. This project successfully improved fire flow protection but had an unfortunate adverse impact on water hardness for many customers. Corix will seek regulatory approval to change the water source to resolve these water hardness issues. We believe the infrastructure upgrades required to implement this solution will ensure a healthy, reliable, and sustainable water utility service for all residents.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Corix will hold this Open House virtually via Zoom. More details of the project and the Regulatory Application will be presented at the Open House, and attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and provide comments on the proposed plans. Following the Open House, the presentation will be made available on the respective Corix websites providing an additional opportunity to submit additional feedback through email, for up to one (1) week following the Open House.
