UPDATE - Nov 2, 11:00

We have submitted water samples for lab testing to the First Nations Health Authority, and are awaiting results. Customers can expect another update on Friday Nov 3.

UPDATE - Oct 30, 16:00

Crews are completing this work, but estimated return of water service is now 6 PM. We apologize for this inconvenience.

A major section of new water main in Ladera is being connected to the existing Sun Rivers potable water system.

To safely accomplish this work, sections of the Sun Rivers potable water system will be without drinking water on Monday October 30, from 8 AM to 5 PM. Please collect water for drinking, cooking, and bathing prior to this time.

Affected Neighbourhoods are:

  • Belmonte
  • Golf Ridge
  • Visao Court
  • Visao Terrace
  • Sillaro Place (Outage Due to Water Main Repair on Sillaro Place)

After this disruption, you may experience trapped air or discoloured water. Should this occur, try flushing your cold-water lines for 2-3 minutes. If conditions persist, please contact us.

Localized Boil Water Advisory

Regrettably, the above neighbourhoods will be under a Precautionary Boil Water Advisory due to unavoidable localized depressurization of the water system. This is done when contaminants could enter the water system, but boiling will effectively remove them.

We’ll work with the First Nations Health Authority to expedite testing and remove the Advisory as quickly as possible (minimum of 60 hrs. from the start of the outage). Updates will be posted on this website.

Precautions During a Boil Water Advisory

During a Boil Water Advisory, tap water used for the following purposes should be brought to a rolling boil for at least one (1) minute prior to use.

  • Drinking and ice cubes
  • Liquids or food (e.g. tea or soup) that will not be boiled for at least one (1) minute
  • Washing fruits and vegetables being eaten raw
  • Brushing teeth or cleaning dental and medical appliances
  • Preparing baby food and infant formula
  • Bathing infants

Adults, adolescents, and older children may shower, bathe, or wash using tap water, but should avoid swallowing water. It’s recommended to sponge bathe infants if using tap water. Tap water may be used for dishes washed by machine but add bleach to water used for dishes washed by hand. Water used for other household purposes does not need to be boiled.

This Advisory will be rescinded once the water has been demonstrated safe to drink. Please check this News & Notices page for updates. Should you have questions, please contact Corix Customer Care.
